Conserving water is not just a drought-time lesson for students at Learning Tree Preschool, this year's winner of the borough's Green Business Recognition Program.

Year-round, students are engaged in an earth-friendly curriculum that includes rain barrels, gardening, and how to make natural bug repellent, said Diane Oliver, who owns the school with husband Mike.

"We have a big garden at the school so they can tend to it every day," she said.
